Restoring Honor Rally
Forty seven years ago this past weekend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. gave his famous 'I have a Dream' speech on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. Not to be outdone, controversial Fox TV host Glenn Beck chose this exact same spot to give his own speech. Why? What is his 'Dream' for America? What was Dr. King's? Compare and contrast the two events.

I think Glenn beck is clearly bad for America. He says things like he wants to "restore Americas honor." When its is clear he is only after one thing, money. He uses fear tactics to sell books and tickets to his speeches. He talks a lot about Christ and the Christian faith. He trys to connect himself with the pilgrims, to seem wholesome. When he is in fact a Mormon. Far from the Protestant Pilgrims. He likes to make up insane story's to put American in a state of fear. Such as his claim the President Obama is a Muslim. When it's clear that he's a Christian and was born in America. Or that the Rockefellers are communists. When they made huge amounts of money from a Capitalist System. He does these things to make money or help his conservative political friends. Making people fearful of the government; fearful of rich liberals.
ReplyDeleteGlenn beck may say he is a proud American, but last time I checked Fear mongering, hate of the President, radical zealotism. Isn't an American. Actually it sound a lot like the people we are trying to stop in Afghanistan.

I would completely agree with Sir Skoti. I feel that Glenn Beck is wrongminded and extremely misleading. For example, I have heard him complain about Obama not getting the troops out of Iraq like promised, whereas Obama promised to clear out the COMBAT troops by August 31 and he did so. To someone who gets their news from Beck, this presents a lie that nevertheless is believed, same as Obama being of Muslim faith.
ReplyDeleteBeck is only in it for the money and uses fear and conspiracy to bring those too uneducated to take their own stance on such subjects together for profit. He is a disgrace to America and ruins its image.
